Bergan Mercy Medical Center incorporates the colors and sounds of nature into the healing process by creating a 6,400-square-foot healing garden.

The healing garden is located directly across from the Cancer Center Family Gathering Area and is visible from the chemotherapy room, offering inspiring views to patients as they undergo treatment. In addition, visitors to Bergan Mercy will have access to the garden from two external staircases.

Our cancer patients can find themselves in a frightening and confusing world. If we can improve their emotional and mental outlook with a little inspiration from nature, it improves their coping and may affect the outcome of the disease as well."

-- Dr. Robert M. Langdon, Jr.
President, Nebraska Cancer Specialists
