Alegent Creighton Health Hospice, in Omaha, Nebraska provides compassionate medical, emotional and spiritual care for patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and a life expectancy of less than six months.
Founded on the belief that every person has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, our hospice care includes specialized pain control and symptom management by a highly skilled hospice team, led by a group of five hospice physicians.
Hospice also is helpful for managing pain and the symptoms of chronic illness, such as shortness of breath, associated with terminal disease.
Each patient and family must decide if and when hospice is the right choice. Maybe treatment has more complications than benefits -- or frequent hospitalizations have become overwhelming for a loved one. Maybe pain relief has become the top priority.

Comprehensive services
When you choose Alegent Creighton Health Hospice, you choose the very best care available. As the largest not-for-profit hospice in the area, our team of experts is led by five board-certified Hospice and Palliative Care physician medical directors. Our highly-skilled team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, bereavement specialists, nurse aides and volunteers specialize in providing compassionate, patient-centered, end-of-life care. Physician specialists also are available for consultation in Oncology, Cardiology and Hospital Medicine. A Hospital Medicine provider is a board-certified internal medicine physician who closely monitors the delivery of care for inpatients from admission to discharge.
Informational visits
Alegent Creighton Health offers complimentary informational visits to help patients and families learn more about the hospice program at anytime. During informational visits a hospice team member will meet with patients and families to listen to their concerns and offer information and assistance. You do not need to choose hospice care to take advantage of this consultation service.
Requests for information can come from doctors, patients, family, friends, health care professionals, clergy and other members of the community. You do not need a doctor's referral for hospice services.
