Dr. Martin Mancuso, a representative of Catholic Health Initiatives, has served as a Director on the Alegent Health Board since 2009. In addition, he chairs the Alegent Health Patient Safety & Quality Committee of the Board and is a member of the Board’s Planning Committee. He also serves as chair of the Clinical Practice Committee and co-chair of the Physicians Collaboration Committee.
Dr. Mancuso, who serves on the Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Medical Center and Lakeside Hospital medical staffs, is the immediate past chief of the Bergan Mercy medical staff. Under his leadership, Alegent Health physicians have made significant contributions to growth in physician collaboration, services, patient satisfaction and quality outcomes.
Dr. Mancuso received his medical degree in 1976 and completed his internal medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been an assistant clinical instructor of medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine since 1982. He has published articles in the Journal of Clinical Research and the Nebraska Journal of Medicine.
Before coming to Alegent Health, Dr. Mancuso served on the medical staff of Creighton/St. Joseph Hospital, 1979-2005, and Lutheran Hospital, 1972-1987. Dr. Mancuso is a member of the American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association, the Metro Omaha Medical Society and the Hospital Medical Staff Section of the American Medical Association.
