Dr. Martin Mancuso received his medical degree in 1976 and completed his internal medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been an assistant clinical instructor of medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine since 1982. He has published articles in the Journal of Clinical Research and the Nebraska Journal of Medicine.
Before coming to Alegent Health, Dr. Mancuso served on the medical staff of Creighton/St. Joseph Hospital, 1979-2005, and Lutheran Hospital, 1972-1987. Dr. Mancuso is a member of the American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association, the Metro Omaha Medical Society and the Hospital Medical Staff Section of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Mancuso serves on the Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Medical Center medical staff and has courtesy privileges on the Lakeside Hospital medical staff. He is the immediate past chief of the Bergan Mercy medical staff.
Internal Medicine Information
Doctors of internal medicine are specially trained to focus on adult medicine and the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. They provide primary care or complex care to patients ranging in age from teens to the elderly, and see patients in the office, or in a variety of medical settings. Because of their expertise, internal medicine physicians are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. Many internists subspecialize in areas such as cardiology, infectious diseases, arthritis and other inflammatory disease, gastroenterology oncology, and other specialty areas.
