Along with his work in his private practice, Dr. Huerter has been an Assistant Professor with the University of Nebraska Medical Center since 1988, serves on a number of medical boards, and enjoys volunteering with organizations such as Hope Medical Outreach. He is also a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a fellow in the American Academy of Rhinology.
