Prior to joining Alegent Creighton Clinic, Dr. Forse was a Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine with their Department of Surgery and also served as Associate Chair of Surgical Education. Dr. Forse was also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at McGill University, and also Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Forse offers consultations for patients in need of gastrointestinal surgery, including minimally invasive procedures and bariatric surgery. Dr. Forses research interests are nutritional support, immunological and metabolic response to injury, the treatment of sepsis and the biology and treatment of morbid obesity.
Dr. Forse serves on the editorial boards of Obesity Surgery and is an associate editor of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, the two leading journals on Bariatric Surgery. He is a prolific researcher and has authored or co-authored more than 300 publications, books and book chapters. where he co-founded and directed the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and directed the Clowes Laboratory of Surgical Metabolism. Dr. Forses current focus is Bariatric Surgery and research. Dr. Forse has performed more than 1,000 bariatric surgeries including gastric bypass, gastroplasty, gastric banding, and biliary pancreatic diversions.
