Consultation services are available to a variety of providers; educational presentations are available to community groups.

Service Goal:
Alegent Health Behavioral Services and Alegent Health Psychiatric Associates are committed to ensuring that patients, families, other facilities, and the community receive accurate and appropriate information regarding mental health and chemical dependency.
Service Description:
Education is the best way to help people deal with problems before they occur and to reduce the stigma about mental illness and its treatment. Consultation services may be used to assess psychiatric needs and determine recommendations. Educational presentations address topics such as conflict resolution, communication, depression, step parenting, grief and loss, stress management and chemical dependency.
Follow-up Care:
Consultation services may be used to assess psychiatric needs and determine recommended treatment. Program consultation assists agencies that provide psychiatric or substance abuse treatment. Educational presentation participants may be referred to other community support groups or educational offerings .

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team
Client:
Agencies or communities experiencing traumatic events.
Service Goal:
This team of specially trained professionals assists victims in working through their post-trauma feelings and helps them access mental health or chemical dependency services, as indicated .
Service Description:
Intervention with the victim, emergency response provider or others affected by the crisis, handled in a confidential and timely manner.
Follow-up Care:
Determined based on evaluation.
Treatment Team:
Stress debriefing team.

School Liaison
Client:
Children who are currently enrolled in grades K to 12.
Hours:
Available during traditional school hours.
Service Goal:
The school liaison works to streamline services between the academic and clinical settings. Through collaboration, better coordinated community services and improved health status for children can be obtained.
Service Description:
The school liaison coordinates services between the home, school, mental health agency, family and child. Assessments and screenings may be completed on site at the school to determine the recommended services for the child. Coordinating treatment-planning meetings between the school and mental health personnel is also completed.
Follow-up Care:
Follow-up care is dependent on input from treatment team members, classroom observations, school staff and family input.
Treatment Team:
Varies depending on the individual needs of the child. Treatment team members may include psychiatrist, school liaison, Department of Social Services, school representative and family.
Referral Process:
The patient, family, school or referral agency may contact the school liaison for Omaha or Council Bluffs to seek services of the school liaison.
Location:
Onsite at the school.
