Our Board of Directors consists of leaders in the fields of business, healthcare, accounting and medicine who understand their role in providing strong corporate governance.
Sponsorship and Appointments
Alegent Health’s sponsors, Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Immanuel, each appoint six voting members to the Board. The organization’s President and Chief Executive Officer serves as an additional non-voting, ex-officio member of the Board. Each sponsor must ratify the appointments of the other sponsor. If ratification does not occur, the process is repeated. Each Board Director serves two full, four-year terms.
Board of Directors Primary Function
The Board’s primary function is to carry out the Mission of Alegent Health. Among their duties are to develop the role, mission, goals, strategic and operational plans of Alegent Health; to establish organization-wide policies and assure system-wide quality of care and quality of work life; and to determine the appropriate utilization of investments for capital and operating purposes, and transfer investments among participants.
Board Meetings
The Board holds regularly scheduled meetings and convenes committee meetings to hear goals, objectives and recommendations from the System’s administrative and medical staffs. Board Committees and Charters.
