Surgeons

Surgery often is used as a treatment for cancer.  It may be done as a first-line treatment, or your doctor may recommend surgery after chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy has reduced the size of any operable tumors.

Surgery offers the greatest chance of cure for many types of cancer, especially those that have not spread to other parts of the body. Most people with cancer will have some type of surgery. Cancer surgeries are performed by general surgeons or surgeons who specialize in cancer-related surgeries.
