Karen Bermel is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and holds a master's degree in community counseling.

She has experience working with individuals, couples, and adolescents and specializes in the treatment of women's issues, life transition issues such as marriage, divorce, separation, and career change; depression and anxiety disorders; and issues involving grief, trauma, and other stressors that impact the enjoyment, fulfillment, and enrichment of daily life.

She also has Level I and II training for EMDR (eye movement de-sensitization and re-processing.)
