While thousands of athletes compete in London at the 2012 Olympic Games, dozens are taking part in a league of their own in the metro.
"These kids are just like you and I. Their difference is their mobility," Alegent Health Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp director Jena Munson said.
That mobility comes on a set of four wheels. Students from ages five to 19 are learning new tricks at the camp in Council Bluffs.
"All sorts of different sports that you never thought would be possible in a wheelchair," said camper Josh Maier.
Sports include fencing and softball. Students even had a chance to play basketball with a paralympic athlete who is also a former camp participant.
