Segmental arterial pressures is a test that measures the blood pressures at different levels in the legs to evaluate blood flow.
The test is usually performed when there is unexplained pain in the legs.
A PVR study is a non-invasive vascular test in which blood pressure cuffs and a handheld ultrasound device called a Doppler or transducer are used to obtain information about arterial blood flow in the arms and legs. Blood pressure cuffs are placed at intervals on the arms or legs and pressures are recorded. This is one test used to determine the presence, severity and general location of peripheral arterial occlusive disease in the arms or legs. A PVR is a vascular study and may also be called a Doppler segmental pressure study.
