Alegent Health Cancer Center offers Radiation Oncology services at three locations in Omaha: at Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Midwest Cancer Center, and Immanuel Medical Center.
These state-of-the-art departments are staffed by a team of highly trained medical professionals consisting of board-certified radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists and nurses. Radiation therapy treatment is delivered using Siemens linear accelerators or the TomoTherapy Hi-Art System. The Radiation Oncology departments use the latest Siemens CT simulation equipment for treatment localization and sophisticated three-dimensional computerized treatment planning systems.
Services offered at these facilities include Consultation and Follow-up appointments, CT simulation, 3-D conformal radiation therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Low dose and High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and TomoTherapy. The Alegent Health Radiation Oncology departments promote a multi-disciplinary care approach and participate in weekly cancer conferences with other oncology and medical specialists, the Cancer Support Team, Clinical Trials nurses, and Nurse Navigators. The radiation oncology departments are also accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).
