Inpatient Oncology Units
The Inpatient Oncology units serve patients in acute, palliative, and end of life phases of cancer care. Staff provide initial and ongoing assessments, support for treatment modalities which include but are not limited to surgery, brachytherapy, chemotherapy, biotherapy, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Cardiac monitoring as well as care of the critically ill non-ventilator dependent patient is directed by specially trained and Oncology certified nursing staff supported by Clinical Nurse Specialist and Cancer Support Team. Education and counseling for patients and families is ongoing throughout patient admission and hospital stay.
