Referrals to acute psychiatric service must be made by a psychiatrist and/or a physician, by the Department of Social Services, schools, family, courts, therapists, psychologists, Emergency Departments of Alegent Health hospitals or clergy.
This service provides medical and nursing supervision to patients undergoing withdrawal from addictive substances.
Patients are seen daily by their psychiatrists or attending physicians. Following assessment, the treatment team develops an individualized treatment plan with the patient, focusing on the patient’s physical, psychological and spiritual needs.
Patients are discharged when their detoxification is complete and ongoing treatment plans are in place. Follow-up care may include intensive outpatient or residential treatment.
The interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, dietician and chaplain provide medical, biological, social, spiritual, behavioral and emotional support.
