A physician’s order is required for admission to this program.
This program is for children and adolescents ages 5 through 18 years old who are experiencing difficulty coping with the stresses of their daily life. The program provides a safe environment in which the youth can improve or regain coping skills and learn to better meet the demands of family, school and society.
The environment is therapeutic with an ongoing behavior modification program that utilizes teaching interactions to promote positive use of social skills. The interdisciplinary team works with the patient’s family and support system or school personnel to make the transition back to the home and school.
When a patient has reached maximum benefit from the partial program, follow-up outpatient care will be arranged.
An interdisciplinary team cares for the patient who is attending the partial program. Professionals on this team may include the psychiatrist, nurse, program therapist, care manager, recreational therapist, educational therapist, school liaison and behavioral service tech.
