The Alegent Creighton Health School of Radiologic Technology offers a 23-month program of academic study and clinical education in the radiology department. The program begins each year in late August. Courses consist of lectures, demonstrations and supervised clinical experience. When not in class, students perform various radiologic procedures with staff technologists.
Students participate in all activities according to a scheduled rotation through appropriate areas within the radiology department. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology degree and are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) examination. After successfully completing the ARRT exam, graduates become registered technologists and are entitled to use the initials R.T. (R) after their names.
Accreditation
The Alegent Health School of Radiologic Technology is licensed and authorized by the State of Nebraska Department of Education to grant an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology degree and approved for veterans' and other eligible persons' benefits. The School is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT.)

About the Radiologic Technology Field
The art and science of radiologic technology combines advanced technology with human compassion. While it is one of the youngest of the allied health fields, the profession has expanded tremendously in demand, educational advancement, new techniques and subspecialties.
Registered radiographers perform the dual role of providing quality care to the patient and ensuring efficient production of diagnostic radiographs. Using their knowledge of physics and human anatomy, radiographers perform radiographic procedures in surgery, portables and trauma cases, as well as routine procedures such as chest, skeletal, and contrast studies in the radiology department. This profession requires good communication skills and a dependable personality with a mature and caring nature.
