The Alegent Creighton Health School of Respiratory Therapy is affiliated with Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, and University of Nebraska-Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska. These colleges award credit for the courses taught at Immanuel Medical Center. Midland University provides all financial aid services for the school. They can be contacted at

Curriculum Description
The curriculum offers an intensive concentration of rotations at the Alegent Creighton Health campuses in the metro Omaha area. Respiratory therapy students are able to gain knowledge and first hand experience in a number of clinical rotations. The clinical areas include Cardiology, Pulmonary Function/ Blood Gas Laboratory, Pulmonary physician rounds, Pediatrics, Surgery and Respiratory Therapy.
Instruction for Respiratory Therapy students includes didactic, laboratory and clinical practice.
Each eleven-month study program begins in August and is divided into 3 semesters with the usual school holidays and vacations. The Alegent Creighton Health program is a bachelor degree program. The requirements for a bachelor degree at Midland Lutheran College or The University of Nebraska-Kearney must be met before a degree is awarded.

Facilities
The Alegent Creighton Health School of Respiratory Therapy is located on the Immanuel Medical Center Campus in northwest Omaha. The 601-bed healthcare complex was opened in 1974.
Admission Requirements
Completion of all degree requirements with the exception of the Respiratory (RET) courses. At Midland this can be accomplished by:
- Taking all courses in residence, or
- Transferring courses from accredited institutions (with approval of the Registrar)
- Having already earned a Degree (B.S., B.A., A.S., A.A.) from an accredited institution.

Outcomes
The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredits first professional respiratory care degree programs at the Associate, Baccalaureate, and Masters Degree level in the United States and internationally. CoARC’s mission is to serve the public by promoting high quality respiratory care education through accreditation services.
